In 1988, Fabrice Lepotier created a boiler making company in La Hague that worked for the nuclear and naval industries. Realising that it is not good to be a supplier stuck in the subcontracting chain, he successively created companies in engineering, manufacturing, maintenance and support services, becoming an integrator, capable of providing turnkey solutions to his clients. In order not to remain dependent on one or two markets, he covered all the industrial sectors in his region, then set up in various industrial centres in France. The major French industrial programmes, including the construction of EPRs, are driving the growth of his group, Éfinor. The sale of EPRs in China and in the UK gave him export references, which helped him in his international development. A look back at the unusual industrial adventure of a group that now has nearly a thousand employees working into three divisions and seventeen companies.
