The new Orient Express: A Legend Reborn

A feat of engineering and the epitome of luxury, the Orient Express has cemented its legend in literature, film, and history. A century and a half later, the legend is reborn. A complete train set of thirteen cars discovered in Belarus, an architect only consulted for a few sketches who throws himself wholeheartedly into the task of recreating it, and an owner—the Accor Group—that decided to launch the project upon discovering his work… Maxime d’Angeac, no stranger to exceptional “one-of-a-kind” projects, put himself in the shoes of the original designers to conceive the new Orient Express. With the help of a small team and the finest artisans, he hand-drew, prototyped, and brought to life the thousand and one details of the train, all while taking on an even more colossal challenge: designing an Orient Express sailing ship, a project that required him to maintain control over the countless technical constraints and time pressures imposed by Chantiers de l’Atlantique…
