Banks are often seen to be cold especially when they say ‘no’, but when they say ‘yes’, it seems normal. Banks and finance are opaque worlds for the uninitiated. The 2008 crisis did not help matters because we learned that the system could have collapsed and that since then additional precautionary measures had to be taken (such as outlined in the Basel agreements). However, despite this, there are still new surprises. At the same time‚ a digital revolution is taking place. Clients do not have to physically go to a bank‚ they can conveniently pit banks against each other and transfer their accounts in a few clicks on the Internet. How can the banks cope with these major changes and reinvent their role and customer relationships? Are they really there to help the country’s economy? Why do they no longer lend money, or at least, less money?
