Stanley Robotics is in the industrial, technological and service sectors. Its aim is to revolutionise the car parking valet experience: a customer hands over his vehicle to a robot when he arrives at the car park; the robot parks the vehicle safely; and when the customer is ready to leave, the robot brings the vehicle to the customer, without delay. For the users, the experience is simple and agreeable. For the car park administrators, the robot increases the car park’s capacity by 50 % and therefore increases revenues. According to Aurélien Cord, business has been staggering. This all began in 2015, and robots have already been in operation at the Paris Charles-de-Gaulle airport car parks since January 2017. Cord also discusses the different challenges facing Stanley Robotics including technical (robotic) questions, management issues (the necessity to double the number of employees every year), and operational concerns.
