A plea for an ambitious CSR strategy in the cleaning industry

After developing an ambitious CSR policy at NEOVA, the cleaning company he founded, Philippe Jouanny is pursuing this cause as president of the Fédération des entreprises de propreté (French federation of cleaning companies). Improving the staff’s working conditions, training them, promoting their social advancement and securing employment contracts are major challenges for the profession. However, they must be adopted by the clients, who prefer, for example, that cleaning operations be carried out outside office hours. It is therefore a long process of persuasion and negotiation that the Federation is conducting. With the Covid-19 crisis, clients wanted to see offices disinfected during the day to reassure their staff. The “invisibles” thus existed and felt a great sense of pride. This crisis could even help clients become aware of the social and ecological issues put forward by the Federation...
