The storm has beaten down on the start-ups. The new economy is convalescing but the wounds sustained following the disaster are far from healed. Investors who had once put their faith in the potential gold mine and overwhelmingly banked on new companies which arose from the development of new technologies and in particular from the Internet, suddenly became disenchanted because of their instability. Even though fortunes were made with spectacular successes, a number of start-ups had to file for bankruptcy having invested fruitlessly the funds with which they were entrusted at the onset, as the market was not capable of ensuring the necessary returns to enable them to survive. Having said that, even though investors have become more careful and speculators more cautious, innovation still seems to have a bright future. There is no lack of projects and entrepreneurs who have become hardened are ready to complete the projects successfully.
