Henriette STEINBERG

National Secretary of Secours Populaire Français since 1975, she became its General Secretary in 2019. After studying mathematics and the humanities, followed by literature and semiology, she worked as a research engineer at CREDOC from 1974 to 1981. She was then deputy general secretary of the town of Champigny-sur-Marne in charge of human resources and IT from 1982 to 1990, then deputy general director of services at the Val-de-Marne general council in charge of human resources and logistics from 1990 to 2005, and finally a senior regional administrator seconded to Secours Populaire Français from 2005 to 2011. Alongside her professional life, she has been heavily involved in social and humanitarian activities. She is a co-founder of the European Social Action Network, set up in 1991, and has been an advisor to the Conseil national des politiques de lutte contre la pauvreté et l'exclusion sociale since 2008. She is an officer of the Légion d'honneur.
