Graduated from the High School of Journalism of Lille (ESJ) in 1972 ; journalist and reporter from 1972 to 1982 ; communication director in the North County Council (1982-1992) ; Deputy Manager of the Agence de développement et d'urbanisme de Lille Metropole (1992-2002) ; since 2002, Managing Director of the Espace Naturel Lille Métropole ; closely involved in local organisations and associations.
