In 1989, Renault launched its programme of management organisation structured according to projects. The eight people closely concerned with this venture met in Montreal. Their aim was to consider how to carry out a project successfully in the quickest possible time and at the lowest possible cost : the Montreal Club was born. Today, it has twenty-one members including practitioners of project management, heads of companies, researchers, professors and consultants. Together, they study how companies learn from what they are doing. Members discuss lessons learnt from personal experience and disclose the working methods of a club which has become almost legendary.
